Canopy growth has announced a new sales deal with Dublin-based Irish retailer, Fresh Food.
According to the company’s CEO, Paul Tamburino, the deal was a great fit for the brand and a great opportunity for the Irish market to learn from one of the world’s most successful growth companies.
Tamburinos company, Canopy, is the parent company of Red Robin and has an extensive distribution network in Ireland.
According to Tambourino, Fresh Foods was a “natural fit” for the company, given its focus on the food service industry.
“The opportunity for Fresh Food to expand to new markets, which we do through our brand, is fantastic and this is a great way to do it,” said Tambarino.
“It’s not only about the growth and the revenue, it’s about the relationship with our customers.
The whole thing was a natural fit.”
Fresh Food’s new deal comes on the heels of the announcement of a major expansion in its retailing footprint in the UK.
Fresh Foods announced a move to the country in the fall of last year, and the company has since launched a range of new products.
In its latest quarterly report, Fresh Markets said the new partnership with Canopy had already driven up its sales by over 1,200% compared to last year.
Canopy Growth has already announced plans to expand into new markets including the US and the UK, and Tamborinos company said it was looking forward to a continued success in Ireland and other markets.
