BMW announced today that it will sell 2.5 million of its 2019 models beginning on September 1, 2019, an increase of 4.4 percent over the previous year.
BMW said it expects to sell 1.6 million of the new cars.
The 2019 BMW i3 is expected to start at $36,450.
The price will increase to $39,450 in 2019, and $39.450 in 2020.
In addition, BMW said its upcoming models, the i3, i8 and iDrive, will begin at $37,500, $38,500 and $40,500.
BMW said it plans to sell 200,000 of the 2019 models by the end of the year, and 300,000 by the start of 2021.
At the same time, it said it will reduce the price of the i8 by $1,000.
As part of the plan, BMW will also cut its average selling price by 5.3 percent to $34,200.
